It all depends on what type of case person you may be. I have the satin seethru and the Incase snap out of both of them I prefer the speck seethru but the only major downfall of it is that if you like switching cases offer the soft silicone part starts coming apart from the hard plastic.

As for pricing considerations, refurb. 3rd gens (4gb) start at $99 in the apple store, ipod2sell suggests $80. That is, of course, without the engraving to consider. I would, however, reemphasize that aside from the engraving, the iPod is in pristine condition.

^Awesome to hear, thanks for the update. It seems like an SSD is a no-brainer if one wants to do an upgrade. I've used a few SSDs in netbooks and some PCs and the difference always amazes me.
Planning on picking up a Mini at some point and putting an SSD.. looks like its quite the process. Wish it was easier to do in an iMac as well.

I saw some at Office Depot a week ago or so for around $179 "on sale" all colors.
Let your fingers do the walkin', call around to see if some stores still have unsold stock. That'd be my best guess.

I am trying to find a way to do this without using services like mobileme, VPN or any type of remote access. I believe there has to be a way to make this happen, although that probably comes from my ignorance. I feel like the guy on the Dyson commercials, "I just think things should work properly".
I think there was a Windows 7 commercial about doing something like this, so I was hoping I could do it as well.
Anyone else want to chime in?

Another vote here for the Seagate Barracuda if you're looking for a high-capacity drive. I've always found them to be very quiet and reliable.

There's only so many ways in which you can lay out what Apple has already chewed up and spat out. We can forgive MS for using the same layout, obviously. Here is a screen shot. As you can see the Print Center can see my printer, yet it says that I have no drivers insalled. And apparently I nee some drivers because I cannot click add to add the printer. Also, I just downloaded gimp print and it did not seem to work either. I believe that there is some problem with the all in one printers. This is unfortunate, i was planning on using the same printer between my PC and my Mac. I guess I'm going to have to network or move my files to my PC if I ever need to print anything, which is going to be a pain....because I refuse to buy another printer, one should be enough.

When traveling to Europe, don't only go to the "tourist" areas, take the time to walk or explore around the cities outside the tourist zones.
When I was in Prague, I found a really cool air history museum (with lots of Russian jets and MIGs which would be harder to find in the USA) but it was way outside the tourist zone and I think it was good to get a feel for how the city really was.

You missed the real story -- in the release notes Apple explain that they're deprecating the Apple maintained version of Java:

Apple have provided a mechanism for installing 3rd party JDKs (in particular OpenJDK), but it likely won't work with current versions of Java IDEs (Netbeans, Eclipse etc) until they're updated to work with the new paths.

I've recently noticed- some iLife apps are not working. The biggest concern is iPhoto - I've opened up iPhoto '11 (iLife 11) but it says:

However, and here's the catch - iDVD, iMovie, working. Just a couple apps are not working (I can't check every single one for compatibility). Is this a universal problem? How do I fix it? I have iLife '10 and '09 if that helps but I haven't checked if they work. Either way, I would like to use iLife '11 over either older versions... Thanks!

Why is everyone getting so down on the trailer? It's a fun little video made by people who have a great online community. It's not supposed to be serious or serve an immediate function(other than creating some hype). Is that really so wrong? I mean it's one thing if you just don't think the trailer was done well, but why put down some people having fun? And I'm sure those who are bitching that it was pointless are the same people who like to watch 10 minute long movie trailers that give away the whole plot.
I think if they had just called it a "teaser" there would be little to no argument.
