nope. headless computers are literally that- normal computers that have been beheaded. the only issue to overcome is how to manage it without a screen to look at (or presumably a keyboard or mouse to input with), and vnc does a great job of that.

I ordered a 15" MBP (:D) with 4GB of RAM. I also ordered 8GB of RAM to put in it from Newegg. I'm wondering if I can replace the 2GB of RAM in my old Late 2008 15" MBP with the memory from the new computer to increase the old laptop's resale value. It seems to be the same form factor, but the new memory is PC3-10600 DDR3 1333 and the old memory is PC3-8500 DDR3 1066 MHz. Does that affect compatibility? Thanks!

Hi there, I'm new to macrumors but I've been on some other mac forums for a while now. I just updated my website and wanted to know what you all thought (suggestions and comments are more than welcomed).

I also have a question regarding site design. I'd like to reference a file on all my pages so that when I update the navigation menu, relating links, etc. all of my pages will display the update. I'm not familiar with doing include files, but I've been trying to and it's not working (or maybe I'm doing it wrong). Any suggestions or other ideas?

not only that, but there is a limit to where bigger is NOT better. a 30 inch screen placed 2 feet in front of you doesn't seem to make much sense.

Yes. The Shuffle will indeed work as a jump drive between Windows and Mac boxes.
I have a Mac at work, and a pc at home. I work as a PR writer, so I regularly use my 1 gig Shuffle to bridge the two computers: Word docs, Entourage/Outlook e-mail archives, etc. Never had a problem.

You mean short of finding someone with an unbroken installation CD or buying a new copy of the OS?
You could try that application whose first syllable is a tangy, green fruit and whose second syllable rhymes with fire...but I don't know how much luck you'll have.

I think I made an error yesterday by trying to charge the iPad with a 3rd party connector. It charged fine, and this morning I awoke to a 100% charged battery as usual.
Out of curiosity, why did you use a third party charger? I've done it a few times with other devices, but it's always been with quality, branded chargers (like charging my Kindle with my BlackBerry's charger), but I wouldn't dare do that with my iPad unless I knew it was top quality since so many of those third party chargers, like third party batteries, can damage your equipment.
By the way, I think using a third party charger may have voided your warranty anyway. At least on some devices I'm pretty sure it does.

Are you hosting Apache on port 8080? You could just set up a virtual server at *.:80 and any requests to there could be re-directed to the virtual server on *.:8080.
Otherwise I can't think of a way to handle it from something other than the receiving application layer.

I haven't seen anything mentioned here as a decent game that's not also available in Japan. All they sell here are the Jap imports and they have all the "names" mentioned here...plus the Pokemon game everyone's on "pins and needles" for :p

Other than the obvious source (iTunes), is there anywhere else to download high quality music videos for less money/free? Since I can no longer find $200 iTunes gift cards on eBay for $70, I'm looking for alternative methods. Thanks.

I'll be posting bloopers that happened during recording probably tomorrow seeing as we have another snow day in 60�*weather :D.
I promised the bloopers and I just imported em all off the camera, it took us 15 times according to the clips in iMovie to get it right.
