I have an EAD and am in the process of buying a business.
How long do I have to wait in order to apply for GC?

L1A valid for 7 years so you can continue working with A.
Apply GC from B asap and switch to B as soon as labor(PERM) passes 365 days.

For PERM, first 4-6 month goes in preperation so actual Labor waiting start from the day you apply PERM so you should count this preperation time + 365 days.
You might eligible for premium I140 so you don't have to go through this 365 days waiting to extend H1B.

Well company A can file my GC but the issue is that the financial books of company A are not clear right now. Hence there are chances I-140 will be refused even if I file on EB1.
Company B is willing to take me but the issue is how do I join B. The options which I see are that B files my GC under EB2 or EB3 and I continue to work with company A till then. But then in EB2/EB3 the processing will take years till I get my EAD and join company B.

Would it be of benefit, if USCIS sends us a notice when our petition is "Pre-adjudicated; awaiting visa number"? So, we can at least be in peace and go on with our life?
It is a bad idea. It will allow people to misuse it. Once they are pre-approved they may not care about staying in status. They will not change jobs in their area of work. You may find an engineer doing some other profession. How will something like this help USA. We should stop seeing everything from - How it will help me. See how it will help USA to make good suggestions USCIS will listen.

I suggest that IV be even concerned about ppl in the pre-application stage like myself. I havent even filed a labor yet as I have no employer (am a PhD student.) I would like IV to take up issues that concern PhD students, for e.g. the current proposals in the PACE bill that appear to exclude current PhD students (as opposed to future "F-4" PhD students) from automatic AOS benefits 1 year after graduation. This is a large constituency who can be mobilized for IV if IV decides to pursuse this. It is actually a very commonsense amendment to PACE that can be included in the bill if the right people are informed about it. I have drafted a very detailed letter and can make it available here.

Wait for 30 days from the EAD mailing date and open a SR with USCIS and take infopass appointment. Discuss the issue with CSR & IO. They will tell you exactly what you need to do.

I don't think that with the EAD renewal receipt you can continue working. Right now, the EAD is valid for 1 year from the day the process and print your card and you cannot specify the employment dates(or they are ignored anyway). It works differently than an H-1B extension where you can specify the dates and even when they process you application say in April and you asked for it to start in march, the approval notice will have the starting period in March. For EAD, if they processed it in April, the starting date is in April.

Is there a similar streamline process for Nebraska Service Center. My case which was pending for nearly two years at TSC just recently got transferred to NSC and my PD will not be current starting next mont. Is there any thing that I can do in the next 10 days or so?

Visit visa is only for the max. 6 months. No guarenty they will give that. I know many people got 1-3 months only. My mother used to come here for 6 months and go back to India for 1 months and again come back and stay 6 months. The 3rd time at the JFK, they told her this is your last entry in visit visa and give her 3 months. They told her if you come next time, she will send back as blacklisted. Because she abused the visit visa and stayed most of the time here in US for the couple of years. My sister is a US citizen by then and she filed AOS and I-130 for her and my mother got her GC in 6 months. My friend bring his father here and his father was hospitalized due to a heart attack. He got a bill for 90K. Now he is paying it by installments, because be sponser him. He is liable to pay it. He hired a lawyer, but finally he agreed to pay. So don't bring any one here without taking medical insurance. Parents are not come into H4 catagory.
From IRS point of view, parents are considered dependents if you are taking care of them at home. You could bring them on visitor VISA mentioning that they will be here for medical treatment. You may have to show proof of Insurance etc ... in the affidavit of support. Medical exprenses are costly here. That is the only problem.

My employer pays all uscis fees for me, for my spouse I pay(745$) . Employer pays lawyer fees, not sure if lawyer will ask for spouse fees later. I pay for medical and tests(not yet got bill for that)

i talked to my lawyer and he says you need to withdraw the old 485 and apply for new 485 using marriage. he also said that once i withdraw my 485 based on employment my EAD will be revoked too and till i dont get my EAD through marriage i can work. All this didnt make any sense to me. I think he doesnt know what is he talking.
I believe more in IV gurus....

If by that time your EB 485 is not approved, you can still file FB 485, whichever comes first take it. You can file both in parallel. Its only a question of few thousand dollars. Thank you for your reply. Yes, I have signed all the forms and included all the documents. Wrote a cover letter listing all the documents in the packet(like Affidavits, W2's, Passport copy etc.), but in a hurry forgot to sign the cover letter.
